Week 5

Hello all.

This has been another great week in Room 22.  This week saw the end of PAT catch up testing for those students who were away, the start of reading groups, first performance kapa haka practise and our first rain day.

Cricket has been going great. Students have been remembering to turn up and have been great sports.

 Thank you to those students putting their hands up to help out when someone can not make it or is absent.

Shine Awards:     This week there are two as I was away last week-

The 2 students are  Jack and Ruby . CONGRATULATIONS!! for all your focus, great listening, excellent peer work as well as completion of own book work.

Sorry I forgot to mention Aislinn  the week before who received a shine award for her outstanding leadership and peer work.

Rippa Rugby:

Next term we are having some Rippa rugby sessions.  The form that came home this week is a way for the organisation to keep track of how many children have participated in the programme.  It does not enroll your child in a rippa team.  Please fill the form in and return it back to school.  Thanks.
Needing:

*Art shirts to protect children's clothing

*1.5 lt and 2 lt soft drink bottles for planting in. we need 30 of these asap so we can start our growing.

*Any parents available and wanting to help out we would love you. Ways you can help- listening to readers, helping make resources, help with art ..... the list is endless. Please let me know how you would like to help.

I have one regular parent helping out on a Friday which has been fantastic and of great help to the students and myself. thank you 
Reminders:

Homework-

new spelling words, maths task and library books have been sent home on Friday in their book bags. For extra 'kit books' are now organised for students to take home to continue to practise oral reading and comprehension skills. They are known stories from previous levels and stories the students should be able to read independently.

Monday-

School swimming sports.  All children will  need their togs and towels.  There will be a sausage sizzle ($2) and juicies ($1) for sale.  Please make sure your child has sunblock on and if their school hat is at home to bring it.
Good luck to all the swimmers competing in the morning. Try your best, it is all about giving it a go!!

Friday-

Home spelling and maths notebooks and library books returned.  Please do not forget these as it makes testing and writing out new words difficult.
