Stuck in the sea weed
Stuck in the sea weed
RULES:
.You need to
run to the end of the turf to be safe..No goose guarding.
.you need to crawl through there legs to make them safe.
.You need one tagger.
.If you run on the side you are out
That is the
game stuck in the sea weed.
Here we are enjoying our first game of stuck in the sea weed. We liked it because we were all involved all of the time.
Planting seeds
We first went out into the garden area and put soil into our cans.
Once back in class we drew up an observation chart to record what we see and what we do.
Our seeds came from the fridge .
Tips- Important not to over or under water, needs sunlight and warmth.
Our plants are all NATIVE NZ plants but are all a mystery and we will find out what they are when they come through.

SRA
READING- This term we are using SRA. We have just started using it for the first time but so far we are enjoying it. Many students are enjoying the independence and levels they can work through.
Example of a work card
Example of story
Example of Tasks and Questions the students answer into books
Inside the box
Mark card which allows for independent marking.
Our chapter book
This term we are completing a book study on "The Wishing chair". We have copies of the book which we read, share and discuss with a buddy. It is amazing to think it was written in the 1930's.
Here they are on the chair ready to head off on an adventure. I wonder where they will go?
If you were sitting on the chair where would you like to go?
Here the children meet a Giant. AHHHHHH!!!!!!
We have just started the book but can't wait to see where the chair takes them next.

Group Work
Here we are looking at roles within groups.
There needs to be a
leader- to guide/ encourage
reporter- to share and tell what the group did or learnt
recorder- to draw and write what the group discusses/ does
collector- to get and find things
and most important
Everyone is a Member of the group who shares ideas and helps others.
We all showed great listening skills.
We shared answers and supported each other.
Everyone was involved
At the end of our tasks we had to complete a senses chart for a bar of chocolate.
It was hard for some to not eat it straight away but we did it.
We used our sense of sight, touch, smell, sound and of course taste.
We then had to work as a team to write a poem about chocolate.
Here are the 5 minute poems the groups wrote-
Yellow -
Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate,
Chocolate is fun (x2)
Is so fun in my tum, tum, tum.
There's a party going on in my tummy,
the chocolate just makes it seem so funny.
Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate ( x2)
I ate too much ....
Ohhhhh!!!! NOOooooooo!!!!!!!!
Red-
Chocolate, chocolate,
Yum and delicious.
Yummy in my tummy
It fills me up all the time.
Come on lets finish this rhyme.
Green-
Brown sweet chocolate melts in my mouth,
It tastes so creamy of cocoa powder.
Its like milk.
Light Green-
Chocolate chocolate owww so much,
Chocolate chocolate flavour.
Chocolate chocolate owwww so much,
It is melting in my mouth.
Purple-
Yum, Yum, Yum in my tum,
we love chocolate it's so fun.
Smelling chocolate smells so yum.
I could eat it all day long.
Eating chocolate one by one,
I feel sick now that it's all gone.
We love chocolate,
we don't want it to end.
